Work With Me

If your manuscript isn’t quite working, you’re not alone

Most of the writers I work with don’t have a bad manuscript.

They have a strong story, clear intent, and writing that is already good at a sentence level.

But something isn’t landing.

It feels harder to read than it should be. Sections drift. Important moments don’t quite connect. The overall shape isn’t clear yet.

That’s where I come in.

What I do

I work with memoir and nonfiction writers to make their manuscripts clearer, smoother, and easier to stay with, without changing their voice.

That typically involves:

  • Improving flow so the writing moves naturally
  • Reducing repetition so ideas land once, clearly
  • Strengthening the structure so that sections build properly
  • Smoothing transitions so the reader isn’t forced to work harder
  • Final proofreading for grammar, punctuation, and consistency

Nothing is overwritten. Nothing is “made to sound like someone else.”

The goal is simple:
👉 your writing, working as it should

Who this is for

This is for you if:

  • You’ve written a full draft, but something feels off
  • The writing is “fine”, but not engaging enough
  • You’ve been told it needs editing, but aren’t sure what kind
  • You’re close to finishing and want it to read properly
  • You want your voice preserved, not replaced

How it works

The simplest way to start is with a short section.

I’ll review your manuscript and:

  • Show you what’s working
  • Highlight where it’s losing the reader
  • Demonstrate the level of editing directly in your text

From there, you can decide whether to continue with a full edit or take it further yourself.

What you can expect

  • Clear, practical editing—not general feedback
  • Your voice and tone, fully preserved
  • Consistency across the whole manuscript
  • A final version that reads cleanly and smoothly

If you’d like to see how this would apply to your manuscript, send a short section and I’ll take a look.
