class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A blog suggests chronology.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Publishing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regular updates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That isn&#8217;t how I work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What interests me are ideas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes they&#8217;re complete.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes they&#8217;re only just beginning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes they&#8217;ve been quietly developing for years before I finally write about them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Calling them Ideas feels much closer to the truth.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where Ideas Come From<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Almost none of the ideas on this website began with artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or memoir editing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or software.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They usually began with something much simpler.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Something I noticed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A recurring problem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A conversation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A question that refused to disappear.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only later did I realise it connected with many other things.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Writing has always been my way of discovering whether an idea is actually true.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Four Collections<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather than publishing one mixed stream, I&#8217;ve organised ideas into four collections.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Writing &amp; Memoirs<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questions about storytelling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Readers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Memory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Editing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Communication.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Continuous Knowledge Preparation<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ideas about knowledge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preparation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Professional judgement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Decision-making.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Better Ways to Work<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Observations drawn from programme management, technology, organisations and practical experience.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Current Thinking<\/h2>\n<p the most interesting thinking happens here.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Every Idea Begins With A Question<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve gradually realised that almost everything I write begins with a question.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not because I enjoy uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because questions often reveal things that confident statements hide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Examples include:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why do memoirs become clearer after editing?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why does AI produce convincing mistakes?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When does information become knowledge?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why do organisations keep solving the same problems?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What happens when AI understands more than the people responsible for it?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every article begins with one of those questions.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Journey Through An Idea<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every article follows roughly the same pattern.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recognition<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A familiar problem.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Observation<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Something I&#8217;ve noticed.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discovery<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An explanation that surprised me.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Implication<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why I think it matters.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Continue Exploring<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One carefully chosen next idea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not ten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think ideas deserve to unfold naturally.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Some Ideas Change<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every article represents a permanent conclusion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes I change my mind.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes better evidence appears.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes a better question replaces the original one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When that happens I&#8217;d rather explain why than quietly rewrite history.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think intellectual honesty matters more than appearing consistently correct.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What I Hope You&#8217;ll Find<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don&#8217;t expect every idea to interest every reader.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But I do hope you&#8217;ll occasionally find one that makes you pause.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not because it provides a clever answer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because it encourages a different way of looking at something familiar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those moments have shaped much of my own career.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps they&#8217;ll prove useful to someone else too.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reading Suggestions<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-heading\">Continue Exploring<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ideas rarely exist in isolation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If one article interests you, I&#8217;d
