class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Analyses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Generates ideas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes it does all of those things remarkably well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet many of the frustrations people experience with AI have very little to do with artificial intelligence itself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead they begin with something much earlier.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The knowledge being used wasn&#8217;t ready.<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That observation eventually became Continuous Knowledge Preparation.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why I Began Exploring CKP<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For many years I worked with large information systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Different organisations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Different industries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Different technologies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet I kept seeing the same problem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People rarely failed because they lacked information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They struggled because the right knowledge wasn&#8217;t available when important decisions had to be made.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artificial intelligence simply made that problem impossible to ignore.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Is Continuous Knowledge Preparation?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Continuous Knowledge Preparation is a preparation-first discipline.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather than asking:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;How do we generate better answers?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">it asks:<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;How do we prepare better knowledge before any answer is generated?&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That preparation may involve:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">selecting evidence;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">identifying context;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">confirming provenance;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">checking recency;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">exposing uncertainty;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">revealing relationships;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">removing contradictions;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">clarifying purpose.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only after that does generation become genuinely dependable.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What CKP Is Not<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the easiest ways to understand CKP is to explain what it is not.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is not:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">another prompting technique;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">another large language model;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">another knowledge management system;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">another AI product;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">another search engine;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">another vector database.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those technologies all have important roles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CKP explores something different.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The preparation of knowledge before professional judgement.<\/h2>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Preparation Problem<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Imagine asking AI:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;What should we do?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The answer depends entirely upon what AI already knows.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If that knowledge is:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">incomplete;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">contradictory;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">outdated;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">poorly organised;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">missing context;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">lacking provenance;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">then even excellent reasoning may produce poor conclusions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Generation cannot reliably compensate for inadequate preparation.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Preparation Journey<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think of preparation as moving through seven connected questions.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Purpose<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What decision or action are we actually preparing for?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Evidence<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What reliable evidence is available?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Context<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What surrounding knowledge changes the meaning?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Provenance<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where did this information come from?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Can it be trusted?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recency<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is it still current?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Relationships<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How does this connect with other knowledge?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Uncertainty<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What do we still not know?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those questions prepare knowledge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only then should generation begin.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Human Boundary<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One principle remains constant throughout CKP.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The system prepares.<\/h2>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The professional judges.<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artificial intelligence can prepare remarkable amounts of information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But professional responsibility remains human.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Preparation exists to support judgement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not replace it.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where CKP Can Be Useful<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although artificial intelligence first brought this problem into sharper focus, the ideas apply much more widely.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Examples include:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">professional editing;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">procurement;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">programme management;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">executive decision-making;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">research;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">legal work;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">healthcare;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">engineering;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">education.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wherever important decisions depend upon knowledge, preparation matters.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Different Way Of Looking At AI<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many people ask:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;How can I improve my prompts?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CKP asks something earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;How can I improve the knowledge before any prompt is written?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That simple shift changes almost every later decision.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Current State<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Continuous Knowledge Preparation remains a developing discipline.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some ideas are already well supported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Others require further exploration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where evidence is incomplete, I believe it&#8217;s important to say so.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Good preparation includes uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It doesn&#8217;t hide it.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Questions I&#8217;m Currently comprehension?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How should professional judgement evolve as AI becomes more capable?<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those questions continue to shape the
